Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang is traditionally used to support overall vitality by strengthening the body’s core energy, particularly the functions of the Spleen and Stomach in Traditional Chinese Medicine theory. This formula is especially supportive when:
- You’re experiencing occasional fatigue or low energy

- You’re looking to uplift Qi and restore balance after overexertion
The Formula
Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang — translated as “Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi” — is a time-honored herbal combination used to strengthen the body’s core energy. This classic formula features key herbs like Huang Qi (Astragalus) and Dang Shen (Codonopsis), traditionally used to support the Spleen and Stomach, promote healthy digestion, and uplift Qi.
By focusing on these core organ systems in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang is especially useful when your body feels depleted, your energy is low, or your digestion needs gentle support.

Digestive balance
I love DAO Labs digestive support products. I recently took Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang to restore balance, and it worked. A pleasant side effect was not feeling hungry for an afternoon snack.

Very helpful herb!
My peristeam hydrotherapist recommended this herb to help support my spleen/stomach, elevate chi, and help my immune system. When I followed up with my acupuncturist she said she loves it for an energy boost too. Soon after I started taking it I could tell I was feeling better. It’s been a helpful part of my daily routine.
